We are working with our colleagues over at  IdeasProject to get developers in touch with users to work on ideas that can create great apps for Nokia devices. IdeasProject is a great place for developers to pick ideas and work with customers to refine existing ideas. We want to create a healthy community with deep cooperation to produce the best apps for your devices. Here we have a small selection of ideas that you might want to work on. •  Opus Dei A wonderful way to keep track of current catholic feast days, events, and daily norms of piety if you happen to be a Catholic. Similarly any app to keep track of religious or public holidays would be helpful.
•  Smooth Wake Up 15 minutes before your alarm clock is set, it will light up the Led Flash of your phone; If you don't wake up because of the light turn music on. More details on the idea page.
•  Nokia DJ Use your MP3's and touch screen to mix your music. See the idea for more details and a mock-up of the UI.
•  FM Radio Recorder Record radio shows as the happen, listen to them later, time-shift, edit.
•  Personal Spy Send text messages with a special syntax to trigger events on the device.
•  Music Alarm Clock Create your own alarm musics using FM radio if available, MP3's and more.
•  Calorie Counter / Food Diary Track the meals and snack they eat on a daily basis for health reasons.
•  Gesture reconigtion on phone Use the camera of your device and the HDMI port to play on your TV.
•  BT-to-PC Use your mobile device as a bluetooth receiver for your PC.
•  Music search on radio Always find radio stations playing music. (This idea is in Spanish)
•  W-LAN Optimizer Check available wlans in your area, channels, strength. App could suggest changes to use free channels or configure your Wi-fi hotspot to work better with your devices
•  Video login Use face recognition to unlock your device and see pictures of those that tried to unlock it
•  Application to Control/Monitor home appliances Control your appliances from your mobile, monitor the status and tweak the settings to use energy more efficiently and reduce costs
•  Neighborhood Problem Board Use mobile devices and their sensors to collect information about problems in a local neighborhood so that local administration can take care of them more efficiently
•  The Security Extended Pair your mobile phone with another device that you keep in your pocket, purse, etc. The device is locked when not paired with that device. If your device is lost, no one can access your data.
•  Silent Mode Change your ringtone settings automatically based on the device's context, put it face down and the ringtone is silent, put it face up and the ringtone is loud.
•  Out of office A simple automatic text message response to tell people you are "out of office". When you switch the app on, it will automatically respond to text messages telling people you are "out of office" and will respond to them on a particular date.
•  Sign Language Communication Through Mobile This tool will be a very useful tool for people who are interacting with sign language. This application will enable a chat between two people who interact with sign language
•  Eye Tracker Use the front camera of a device to track the eye movements of user. This would make it possible to select applications, move a pointer, etc.
•  Telecare Use a simple 1-button bluetooth accessory to send alert messages in case of emergency, for example an ill person or elderly.
•  Measure Use your device's screen to display scales to measure real-life ojects and more.
•  Help in action Develop an app that records people's skills and available dates and times. non-profit companies can then request help based on skill and location.
•  Brace yourself against natural calamities Based on location and time, get information about local hazards, dangerous areas, etc.
•  Application for colour blind people The application turns the mode of the screen to "Colour Blind" mode which could be either- Red-Green or Blue-Yellow ,then it will be very much easier for such people to interact with the device.
•  For Those Natural Environments Lovers Take a picture of a plant, flower, animal, etc. and get information about it.
•  Green on the go Join information about public transport, location, speed and find out what's the best route and speed to reach the nearest public transport hub to reach your final destination.
•  Earthquake Detection System Create an EQ detection system by tuning cellphones into P wave frequencies.
•  Mobile Logo Scan Take a picture of a logo with your camera and get information about the company or organization behind it.

•  Impact Feed App Receive notifications when someone you follow has donated time, money or something else to a cause.
•  Car Manager App Use your mobile to manage and be alerted of planned car maintenance, law requirements, etc.
•  Personal Trainer Choose a course or activity and your mobile will remind you when to do what, measure your performance and improvements.
•  Mobile phone based victim detection and triage mapping Use Aerial and Mobile radio masts to detect victim's location via mobile phones automatic authentication & handover signals aided by aerial and land based RDF ( radio direction finding ) equipment.
•  Get together Find friends to meet or meet new people with a super-local realtime social network.
•  The exterminator: Malaria pushed too far A social game to raise awareness on diseases like malaria. Winnings are devolved to charities that help fight the specific disease.
•  Food Guardian Store the foods you cannot eat and use this app to help you filter out what is not good for you.
•  Trashspotting Use the power of crowdsourcing to spot areas where rubbish has been thrown on the ground, bins have been damaged, etc.
•  Recyclable Trash Type the name of the object and the app will tell you how to recycle and where.
•  What goes into which bin Do you always know in which bin goes what? Use an app to do that.
•  Personal/Home Energy Consumption and Conservation Use your mobile device as a central hub to monitor energy consumption based on activity, transportation, house heating, etc.
•  Environmental Abuse Use a mobile device's camera, GPS, Internet connection and more to report abuses.
•  Effective commuting Make commuting more efficient and economically viable by connecting individuals that need to go on the same route and could share the vehicle.
•  The daily challenge Receive on your mobile a small challenge every day that will help the environment. Make a small step every day, to make life better.
