A Qt Quick Chess Game that runs on Nokia N9, Windows and Mac OS X.
Jose mobile allows you to hone your chess skills against a computer opponent with adjustable skill level:
- Play against a strong computer opponent, or use it to analyse your games.
- Adjust the engine "skill level", so that you have an actual chance to beat it.
Originally, the name was meant as a reverence to chess champion Jose Capablanca.
Download the game
Download the version for your platform from the Files tab. The game is self-explanatory, but there is an in-game manual, and further instructions on the wiki here.
Building the project
Jose Mobile provides a QtQuick UI over the Stockfish engine (by Tord Romstad).
Compile contains instructions/notes to get you started with building both parts of the project. Feel free to contact me if you need more assistance.
Testing
Jose mobile has been tested on Nokia N9 (MeeGo 1.2), Windows XP and Mac OS X.
Looking for Contributors
I'm looking for contributors to help me port Jose mobile to new platforms - in particular, ports to Symbian, or Android (if possible at all) are most interesting.
I'd also welcome help addressing the open jose/query tickets.
